Kanye West did a terrible thing at the MTV awards. He spoilt a cherished moment for another artist, Taylor Swift. I suspect that alcohol played a part in his discourteous and insensitive action, but to actually interrupt the acceptance speech of a winner, forgetting the times he has been a winner too, was nothing short of disgraceful. I think that very silly moment in his life would have taught him a huge lesson and it is interesting to see what he does after it.
However, President Obama, in an off the cuff remark that should never have been reported, which clearly breached journalistic ethics and trust, called West a 'jackass'. Some would say it was a pretty fitting comment, and well deserved, but, as president, was he right to label West negatively, whether privately or not?
What do you think?
(PS...Please don't be as boorish and discourteous as Kanye West in your response!)
