For 2014, it seems that Republicans may have accidentally stumbled upon the issue that will lose them the women’s vote and possibly Congress – guns.

In many ways, the 2012 Presidential election was about women. While Republicans were busy stripping away women’s reproductive rights; while the Violence Against Women Act became political fodder; while media personalities called high-achieving college students “sluts,” women paid attention and we voted.

The war on women hasn’t ended. Reproductive rights are still shrinking. The Violence Against Women Act is still political fodder. Media personalities still say unbelievably stupid things, but for the short term, Republicans aren’t that worried.
