Yep, that’s the latest among the right wing nut jobs. “Something” will happen – no, honestly, they aren’t specific at all! – and Obama will be so beloved that he will be elected to a third term. Just like the 22nd Amendment says…oh, wait. Darn that Constitution!

The main peddler of this latest whacked-out theory is Stansberry & Associates Investment Research, a publishing firm. They specialize in snake oil financial advice and have a history of promoting such nonsense. Recently they sent out emails signed by George Rayburn, a publisher with their company. In them, they ask readers to imagine that it is 2015 and that “a specific event” – seriously, that’s what it says – will take place. This event will usher in a prosperous period for the U.S. and this is bad because it will “propel Obama to a near-unprecedented third term.” There is a link to a full analysis of this scenario given in the email.
