I was listening to these videos over Christmas that my daughter posted on the Net. In fact, for a variety of reasons (she lives in Ireland), I found them quite by accident and was very moved by them. I thought they were too good for just me alone to hear, and wanted to share them with my friends and audience.
She used to sing in karaoke a few years back, winning many competitions, before marriage, family and career as a psychologist took over. Now she has returned to her first love and I am thrilled to bits because that voice cannot be hidden. It has to reach the world somehow. I thought I would do my little bit as proud Mum to enhance the journey.
This is my favourite, called 'Black is the Colour'.
Christy Moore's Version of Black is the Colour (of my true love's hair). Although it's origins are not Irish, Christy Moore's version of Black is the Colour is firmly set in the hearts of the Irish people and anyone who loves traditional irish music. Thanks to folksy gerry on the guitar and the other 5 people in the Reel Inn bar!
And this is the link to all the videos. What is your favourite?
Enjoy! And give her some feedback if you wish.
