The charity, Shelter Scotland, in Britain, which advocates for housing the homeless, is seeking your help in a very simple but magical scheme. They are seeking good hearted Santas who can make a big difference to their homeless children this Christmas, and you have only 4 days to participate.
It is very easy to do. From the comfort of your home and office, all you have to do is to go to Amazon UK and click on their top 100 toys and send one or two or 10 to the children. Toys range from just a £1 to whatever amount you wish to spend. Shelter Scotland tells you all about the scheme here, with a link to the relevant Amazon site. Titled Social Media Santa, this is what it says
Us Twitter users can make a real difference this Christmas, why not join us as a #socialmediasanta. Here's how:
- Check out Amazon's best selling toys & games. Lots of which are under a tenner. Other online retailers are available.
- Most of the kids are aged 7-12 so pick a gift you think they'd love.
- Add to Basket, use the project's address at checkout (below) and add a wee message using the 'gift' option.
- Voila. You've made a kid who might not have otherwise got a present this year very happy.
Here's the full address for your Amazon orders, if you live nearby you can drop off your present in person:
Shelter Families Project, 66a Victoria St, Blantyre, G72 0BS
Amazingly, such a great idea only received 20 presents last year, but I am sure you can do far better and top that gloriously. I have started it off with 3 presents. It only needs 18 more to beat last year's record. Please join with me and help those kids to have a most memorable Christmas. If you do donate, why not return here to tell us and we can do a tally and celebrate together!
How about it folks?
Go on, click the Amazon link and make your choice(s). Postage is FREE for it too. You only have to CHOOSE the gift from wherever you are.
If you cannot give some toys, how about making a donation on the Shelter Scotland website. They could sure use some extra money this Christmas.
THANK YOU very much! :o)
