After the Republican and Democratic national conventions, the specific policy preferences of Romney and Obama are becoming clear.
For voters who want to do the work to investigate the plan proposals offered by the candidates, there is plenty of good, written information available, and the more serious, responsible newspapers around the country daily contribute more review and analysis.
But some citizens express either skepticism or cynicism about the possibility of really knowing the definitive positions of either candidate. These voters seem to doubt almost all information and all promises, and seem unwilling or unable to trust any leader or expert.
