Americans can’t get enough of the British royal family. We saw this in 1981 when Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer, more recently last year with the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton, and now as London prepares to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee.
Why, given our history of independence from Britain, are we so obsessed with the monarchy?
