Racism is the quintessentially American wedge issue that glops to the surface like bubbling putrid methane gas fighting up from the bottom of outhouse pits on oppressively hot humid windless summer days.

From the time a black child is first caught without the protection of their parents, they suffer like no white person could ever know. Yet we whities can nearly understand the pain, the rejection and the humiliation at the hands of the cruelest beast on Planet Earth... school-aged children of white racists parents... for racist children are the bullies who terrorized us, too. They have terrorized us to the point that our feet are frozen to the ground where we stand, our jaws are clenched so we cannot utter a word and our eyes are transfixed on the horror before us. Dare we speak up in defense we are shouted down as nigger lovers! We cower in fear unable to save that poor child from her life-long fate just beginning.
