Does the arrival of a white baby to black parents signal something profound about the whole aspect of spirituality and our collective consciousness? (Poll)

A completely white baby was born recently to a black Nigerian couple in London. This baby had features, especially her blonde hair, that not even other white babies had at such an early stage. There were no white ancestors in the parents' heritage and, if the real father had been white, the baby would have been definitely mixed race, no matter how "white" she appeared to be. Not even the learned doctors in the field have any explanation for the phenomenon and have put it down to mutated genes.

Professor Bryan Sykes, head of human genetics at Oxford University, described the birth as "extraordinary." He commented that, for the baby to be completely white, both Ben and Angela would need to have "some form of white ancestry...The hair is extremely unusual. Even many blonde children don't have blonde hair like this at birth."

But I wonder if the answer could be something else?

I have read tons of books and some of them espouse the belief that we are spiritual beings inhabiting a human body, hence why death is not such a trauma as we think, while a few more actually believe that children CHOOSE their parents, not the other way round. If we are really spiritual beings in human clothing, it follows that anyone can be our parents, regardless of colour or creed. It really wouldn't matter except to racists!

Again, as strange as this might sound, if children choose their parents, then perhaps this baby belonged somewhere else but 'chose' these parents instead for whatever reason!

It all sounds outlandish and improbable, but there are TONS we do not understand about our bodies, our minds and our world. Pretending we have all the answers won't give us the true answers either. Only an open mind, the willingness to explore the improbable and the confidence to appreciate that there are many possible answers to unexplained phenomenon will move us closer to greater understanding of where we have come from and where we are heading!

Regardless of what we believe about this birth, one thing is certain: colour is not as important in our lives as some people try to make of it!

I totally agree, most of us learn to love someone for who they are and not base on the colour of our skin.Someone taught me, that we are all coloured, white ,black, brown, yellow, etc it does not matter.I think the story about the birth of these amazing beings,in a spiritual sense reminds us who really is in control of our lives.

Well said! Especially for those who THINK they control our world and what's in it!

Your poll needs some refinement very hard to choose a response in regard to your question All answers will still leave the nature / spirit undefined

Do you believe the birth is just a quirk of nature or spiritually connected?

Yes, definitely.

PS I would vote for genetic

I am not really sure.

Of course not!

PS great article and fascinating, but I will still lean towards genetic. I also have no objections to you deleting my post I only mentioned it because the poll was very confusing to answer.

I think I need to read this article , every day, for the rest of my life, to remind me of the "miracles" that exist in life. This is amazing.

I personally think people come in different colors just like horses and dogs and cats. We are only different colors because it looks cool and God is kind of artistic. The idea of color coding humans is just pretty stupid to begin with. This was just an unusual set of genetic characteristics coming together.

I am inclined to disagree with this. There is nothing worse to me than clones all looking and acting exactly alike. I value my individuality and uniqueness greatly. Someone somewhere saw fit to make us diverse, for whatever reason, and that's good enough for me. It is not for me to try to rubbish it or pretend that I know better! After all, we appreciate the diversity of nature and the animals. It is a fear of difference and not being able to deal with it why we feel we all must look and sound the same!

My mother was white and was so beautiful, and my father was black and looked like Steve McQueen. I adored both of them and seemed to have inherited some of their looks! Most important, I love me and my difference, and give thanks for it daily. When I am with my five sisters, who also have different shades and colouring (two are light skinned like our mother, and two are dark like our Dad), we just look awesome! :o)

What I meant by "color coding" humans is people putting other people in a certain category or making assumptions about them because of their color - Not that I don't appreciate the beauty of us being different colors as well as being different in many ways as individuals. I'm all about some diversity. IMO, Variety is very cool.

Could the baby just be an albino?

No, doctors have ruled that out categorically. They say the features are not those of an albino.

Albinos have WHITE hair, pink eyes, and very pale pink fingernails. Actually, there have been a few other instances of this type of thing lately, including those recent twins.

Little Sure Shot

I once knew a man with pink skin, red hair, and jade green eyes. His immediate family was black. It would seem his great great grandfather was Irish, hence the red hair and green eyes. He was what they call a throwback. You dig far enough into this family's genetic history and I bet you will find the answer.

I said quirk of nature, but it is actually of genetic mutation, both held a dominate gene that resulted in the unusual birth. It is said all DNA in humans are 99.98 percent the same, and actually in a strand of DNA that .02 percent is significant, when the couple conceived the child some where in past generations (could be 10,000 years I dont know) this dormant gene became active. As with many dormant genes we carry with the right resuscitation via breeding it is possible.

Good explanation usa1

Skin color is just the result of how much melanin (pigment) in our skin which is governed by pairs of genes and the sets of codes they carry. All of us are really just different shades of brown (the predominate color of the world) some lighter and some darker depending upon the amount of melanin in the cells of the skin.

The dominant features of various people results from different combos of previously existin created genes. The originally created genetic information has either been reshuffled or has mutated, but has not been added to. As usa1 stated, the biological differences between all of us determined by DNA differences is trivial...about .02%.

Acts 17:26..

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation

I voted for #3 because that is God's plan..:)
