I wish they wouldn't gloat over sad events like this. What great fun can there be in someone breaking up and children being with single parents? Just because they are in the public eye doesn't make the pain and angst any less. If anything, it makes it worse being in the glare of the world while being engrossed in emotional pain!

Sure it's sad for them, but Guy was a human doormat for a long time. It's time to put an end to the suffering.
How do you know that, caroaber? How do any of us know what really goes on behind closed doors? Love can make some of the strongest women do some strange things. I have always felt that HE was the controlling one, hence why she came to Britain to live and to become part of the local community. I felt she was perhaps trying to please him, being the younger spouse too.

Because when you've been made a cuckold and the whole world is watching, it is a terrible discomfort, to be sure.
To control, one needs leverage. His career stalled, she was the superstar.
She got pregnant and only then did they decide to wed. She wanted to improve her cachet and chose to live in the U.K. (Why do some Americans believe so strongly in the British class system?) It's true, I don't know them personally, but reports said that he was not into Kabbalah or adopting little David Banda. (How many C of E or other British Protestants embrace Jewish mysticism?) I saw few signs of independence from him. Did you see "Swept Away"? It made Ritchie a laughingstock.
Yes, she tried to please him, and he tried to please her. But his career got smothered in the process, and Madonna continues to flaunt her relationship with the NY Yankees player Alex Rodriguez. It is not the behavior of someone who is still trying to save one's marriage.

Thanks for that input. Yes, sadly, there are certain things there to ponder.

I guess it will always hold some fascination for them because it carries wealth, titles and a unique accent, perhaps? :o)
